Bob and Louise channel surfs their television at a late night until Banjo, a cowboy who uses a banjo as a gun comes on. It is Bob's favorites and there is also a collection of films starring him. Gene comes along and starts to enjoy Banjo with Bob but not Louise.
The next morning, Linda receives a call from Wagstaff school's counselor, Mr. Frond, that Linda will catering the spaghetti and meatballs for the school's fundraiser for Tina's conflict resolution club and hopes the spaghetti and meatballs will be better than Coleen Caviela's cooking from last year that made her the worst day of her life. She forced Bob to cook the meal and he reluctantly agrees to. Gene arrives at the kitchen with Louise's girl toy guitar to pretend to be Banjo and also to say the punchline of his jokes before his classmate Choo-Choo (Brian Posehn) usually does. At lunchtime, Gene ignored Louise to tell Choo-Choo a joke which Gene does but only one kid laugh who has a learning disability. After school while cooking the spaghetti, Bob declines Louise's suggestion to watch some TV shows tonight when he brought a DVD box set of all Banjo's films for him and Gene. Later that night, Bob and Gene continues to bond over Banjo's films so Louise is in desperation to hang out with that she asks Tina and Linda which both failed so later, Louise asks Linda to stop their bonding but Linda think it's best to let them bond since they don't bond much to anything else. At school, Mr. Frond teaches Tina's class about A.B.S! (stands for Access your feelings, Be apologetic and Slap it!) with a skit starring Tina, Jimmy Pesto Jr. and classmate Jocelyn about the program however, Tina threatens Jocelyn that if she tells Jimmy about Tina like what happened in the skit, she will punch Jocelyn in the face repeatedly. At lunchtime, Gene keeps acting like Banjo to Choo-Choo and caused a food fight to start at the cafeteria. Bob discusses their behavior in the incident inside Mr. Frond's office but things did not too well when Mr. Fond tries to use his A.B.S! to the kids and Bob so he gave the kids detention and bans Linda from the spaghetti dinner.
Linda became so angry that she locks up the DVD box set and Tina gets very upset about the cancellation. After Gene, Louise and Choo-Choo's detention time, Choo-Choo duels Gene for a fight after school but when it happened, Bob was just in time to stop it however, Choo-Choo's dad comes along, accusing Bob violating his son so he and Choo-Choo chases them shirtless where Bob and the kids hide in a playground tunnel. During their time in the tunnel, Bob and Gene apologizes to Louise for not hanging out with her and watch Banjo instead even Gene and Bob finds a new bond together, farting. Tina makes a speech at the fundraiser but when she saw Jocelyn whispering to Jimmy Jr., she attacks her for whispering (Tina believed Jocelyn whispered about her). Linda snaps to Coleen and reveals to everyone that the sauce she used for last year's spaghetti dinner was store-brought sauce. Bob, Gene and Louise arrived unexpectedly with spaghetti and meatballs and worked out his A.B.S. to Mr. Frond which lets his spaghetti and meatballs served to everyone who Tina and Jocelyn got along, Tina wanting Jimmy Jr. to share a pasta string in each others mouth but did not want to, Choo-Choo and his dad come back to the school and enjoy the meal.
